Fostering the four elements of hip hop culture in Central Florida
The Hip Hop Collective is Florida's largest student-run hip hop organization. An organization I instantly became part of once I attended UF. I acted as both President and the main PR Contact during my time with the group. Both roles allowed me to practice my newly-acquired PR skills at the university and strengthened my leadership abilities.

Hip hop culture is often looked down upon because of the negative stereotypes associated with rap music. I lead a team of students to set up bboy and emcee battles in an effort to educate the student body on the four elements of hip hop and what the culture truly represents - unity and respect.

I was mainly responsible for increasing membership and securing funds for the organization. Other activities included hosting seminars, distributing press releases, directing and producing multimedia content, and establishing a social media strategy. Membership increased to over 300 members during my time with the group. Our annual "Icing on the Break" and "Soul Cypher" events attracted well over 1,500 attendees for each. A record that still stands today.
